One of the smartest Google mashups I've seen in ages. You enter a street address, and they calculate how "walkable" it is - how many amenities are within walking distance, or in other words, how dependent on a car you'd be at that location. I'm definitely using this next time I go shopping for a new home. My old hood scored an 80 (sigh, I do miss it) and this new one, for now, scores a 63.

Absolutely fabulous and outstanding tee. In fact so fabulous that even though they're sold out I think I'll hop down to the place in our hood that does custom tees and make myself one. Because seriously.
Nice hard dose of reality for email marketers. Unfortunately. (God I hate how ostensibly "user-friendly" email programs handle HTML.)

Laser-cut mats for your home in sweet sweet type. I want "little black rug" more than words can say. Seriously.
Online Master's thesis on information design patterns. Really interesting stuff here; I've only had a chance to glance through it but it seems like a great resource.
Great interview with Debbie on brands and brand design. I think I'm definitely going to be picking up her book.
How to stay very, very dumb / It's a fact: TV sitcoms destroy your brain. But what else can you do with all that unused mental power?
See, I still want immersion. I want to feel the full expression of the artist, the filmmaker, the writer, the journalist, the individual. I don't want to walk into an art gallery and have the ability to change a painting's colors on a silly whim. I don't want to read a book and be able to change a character's name or even pick a particular cover design to match my couch. I don't want to click the remote and choose which characters die or select an alternate ending. If I want to interact with my DVD, I'll just buy porn, you know?
Morford tickling the ivories on Web 2.0 - why it's good, and why it's not necessarily the be all and end all. While I don't agree with all of it, most of it I'm on board with, and this quote is solid gold: "See, I still want immersion. I want to feel the full expression of the artist, the filmmaker, the writer, the journalist, the individual. From the so-hip-it-hurts-Photojojo, a set of skins for Photoshop, Aperture, After Effects and others. They sit right over your keys and help you to learn the (bajillions) of keyboard shortcuts for each program. Mac only, though, sniff, pout.

This is just uber-sexy. It's a reconditioned phone (that now sells for $400, but who's counting?) that from the looks of it not only has REAL dialling (instead of the fake "numbers" on Pottery Barn phones) but also a fabric cord between phone and headset. That's just sweet.

Minimalist color flip pad. OMG the time suck - WHY do I love stuff like this? Pretty colors. Whee.
