post frightening enough to break the silence2006.10.17

I know I'm terribly behind in my Assorted Sweets not to mention occasional rants, but I just got an email that scared me enough to break my (unplanned) silence here on angiemckaig.com.

The email? A typical marketing email from Amazon.com. And yet...

We've noticed that customers who have expressed interest in "The Star Trek Encyclopedia (Star Trek: All)" by Michael Okuda have also ordered "Family Guy: Brian Griffin's Guide: to Booze, Broads, and the Lost Art of Being a Man" by Andrew Goldberg. For this reason, you might like to know that Andrew Goldberg's "Family Guy: Brian Griffin's Guide: to Booze, Broads, and the Lost Art of Being a Man" is now available. You can order your copy for just $10.17 ($4.78 off the list price) by following the link below.

[shudder]

Or is it just me? Guess I don't see the comparison...

Ok, I'm a little behind on my blogs, so pardon the late response.

So, what you're saying is that you don't see the conjunction between science fiction and satirical cartoons. Right?

Ok, draw a nice big circle. Write "Star Trek" in it. Now draw another nice big circle that overlaps the first circle (by say.... 2/3). Write "Satirical Cartoons" in it. (optional: repeat with circles for "Anime", "Playstation", "MMPRPGs", "Porn", "The Daily Show", etc.).

That big whonking area in the middle? Roughly half the males in the U.S. between 15 and 35. That's just a guess.
