You and I caught the same ad, but we took different approaches in our comments. I wondered about where the felon goes to get a date, and blogged about that on July 15. :-)

Read your comment with interest. You will find that many felons use good old Yahoo. One of the oldest personals still in existence. Yahoo lets anyone post and ignores reports to violations to their posting guidelines. Some of the felons are decent people but the rest are definitely skilled con-men (women).
The best thing to do is remember that if it sounds too good to be true it usually is; I say that goes for dating as well as anything.

This site is hilarious. The threat in itself is good in that it may scare off lesser intelligent people, but if you read the code it in no way applies to lying about ones marital status, unless one is doing it to defraud or in otherwords cheat someone out of money. I give the site an A though for attempting to keep their site free of cheaters.

careful with this site; once in you may never get out. They only allow you to cancel by calling during thier normal business hours. But their ad says Cancel any time (see free trial). What a scam!

True.com is a sham. I used their service two years ago and got out of it without any problems. Recently, True.com emailed me and I opened up the email and it took me to their site. What I didn't know was that in clicking onto the email link, it automatically reactivated my membership. They posted 2 charges for $50.98 US onto my Visa account. I phoned True.com and they said that I clicked on the email and it was an agreement, and therefore NO refund. I phoned back the day after and got to speak to "Salvadore". We got into a dispute about this very same email. He asked if I still had the email and I said I read it and threw it out". His reply was "So, you don't have any proof then...". These guys are shysters! Beware anyone looking to get involved with True.com!

TRUE.COM IS A SCAM. they will charge you after you cancel. i was charged $50 after i canceled the 7 day trial back in september!!! i tried to get the money back, but they said that b/c i logged in once after i canceled, that was an authorization to charge me in full!!! my login was never inactive. i only logged in to check my status! i filed a complaint with my credit card company, but true.com claims i authorized the charge and that i NEVER canceled - SO UNTRUE!!! TRUE.COM IS A SCAM!!!
