snobbery toilet UI geek stuff and more. oh my.
posted 2003.01.21

I'm slowly but surely becoming a terrible snob when it comes to blogs - if they don't have an RSS feed available, I'm very hesitant to even bother adding them to my favourites. Using an RSS aggregator is just so much faster for me, and allows me to enjoy everyone's writing without having to pop manually through dozens of sites to see what's changed. It's why I'm looking forward to upgrading my system to XP and giving the new Syndirella a try.

Interesting toilet UI. Lots of thinking can go into any UI project, apparently, and with lots of thinking can come good results. (via kottke)

The winner for this week's “Company With Head Stuck Furthest Up Its... Ahem” is SBC. Unbelievable that companies can be this backwards-thinking when it comes to the web. Makes me want to go out and buy a copy of Cluetrain for everybody.

Lawrence Lessig's editorial at the NYT is worth reading. As usual.

Mambo Site Server is an open source CMS with, based on their description, a WYSIWYG interface for input. Interesting. Will have to take a closer look - maybe for the company intranet?

Mark gives some thought to mod_rewrite to serve different stylesheets to different browsers. Interesting. Haven't tried such a thing; there's been some debate on the idea since it was posted.

Techdirt appears to be yet another online news aggregator for techie stuff. Nothing too surprising here but looks like a good resource.

This just made me laugh. Thank you, David. How we all know this too well!
