A while back I linked to Janis Ian's The Internet Debacle. It's one person's take on the music industry shenanigans, from an industry insider. She's posted a followup you should also read, pass on, spraypaint on music industry buildings... erm, ok, forget that last part. (via BoingBoing)
Salon takes an interesting look at the music industry shenanigans, too, from a different angle.

Real World Style: “Frankly, this makes marking up documents with XHTML and using CSS2 for layout rather difficult at times. Fortunately for you, I've already put the hours in to making things work on these folks' browsers of choice, and where things won't work, I've figured out how to hide it. These techniques work. I know, because I use them every day in my real world job. ” Excellent resource. (via Zeldman)
My favourite pasttime for years was playing pinball. Forget these whiz-bang video games with four red buttons and six yellow buttons and two shooters with three buttons each. Give me two flippers and a ball launcher any day. I still play when I get the chance. I used to play the STNG pinball game for hours upon hours in my misspent youth; now I could buy one if I only had the cash. Oh, yeah, and room in my cramped urban abode. The game rocks. Seriously. Multiball is when you engage the Borg. How cool is that.
