Walmart's selling Lindows bundled on some of their home PCs. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

The History of the Keyboard: “If a typist typed two letters one after the other too quickly, the "hammers" would hit each other; the typist then had to dislodge the hammers and that could get a bit messy. So, Sholes came up with a keyboard layout that would place letters which would be most likely struck closely in succession on opposite sides of the layout. ” Scary to realize that an interface that's potentially inefficient for today's input devices is in such common use simply because it's familiar. Sadly, the keyboard is far from being the only example. Donald Norman's The Design of Everyday Things has some great examples. (via /.)

Finally, Fancy Fortune Cookies. Fruit flavours, cappucino, chocolate, mint and cinnamon flavours. Who knew such a thing existed? Reminds me of my wonderful trip to San Francisco last year (sigh) and my visit to the Golden Gate Cookie Factory. If you get a chance to visit the city, make this stop a priority. Yummiest fortune cookies I've ever tasted.
