I love seeing smart companies2002.05.30
I love seeing smart companies do smart things. One of my favourites, as you know, is Google, and they have some wonderful things in development that I'm really excited about...
Google Glossary: Find definitions for words, phrases and acronyms. This search is impressively accurate, as you might expect from a brilliant team like Google.
Google Answers: An open forum where Researchers answer your questions for a fee. This is a super idea, and anyone can sign up to be a researcher! I would love to give this a try; I'm forever researching things for myself or others at work. You just have to know where to go. Which, of course (are you sensing a theme here?) is why I love Google so much.
But enough about Google, for now.
The World's Smallest Website. A great example to keep in mind next time someone tries to convince you that the web site just has to be designed for 1024 x 768 in order to fit everything in....
Academic thinking about MUDs and gaming in general... Richard Bartle does some good thinking. This was a fun way to spend a lunch hour. Or it is if you're a geek like me, anyway. :)
An excellent article on wireframing. (via xblog)
Finally, another new cool tool, this one a superb RSS aggregator: FeedReader. I've been playng with it for an hour or so and it looks impressive, although version 2 is still only in Beta. I'll be looking for the final release, believe me! Very well done.
