Shirley Kaiser has written a nice introductory article about online typography: Why Do Some Beautiful Fonts in Print Look Horrible on the Web?. She's also linked to some great resources, including one of my favourites: Minifonts.com, a collection of fonts for sale that are specifically designed to look good online. Thanks, Shirley.

Following this line of browsing, I ran across a great blog about type, Fontlover. And here's what I learned about myself while visiting... test yourself!

The future of technology will continue to look bleak as long as companies continue to be idiotic. Why does every want a big-brother, controlling monopoly interest in every aspect of the Internet and through it, our lives? Another excellent case in point is the pressure being put on the poor Miller family. Why do companies want to ruin the great thing the Internet was meant to be? Ack.

Another example: if you take away deep linking, what the heck are we bloggers going to link to? I mean, do companies even *think* before they file lawsuits?

Still, there are companies still doing smart things out there, and being rewarded for it. Go, Google, go!
